11 Months

Oh, Trent! You are such a cool dude! I mean, really...can a baby be cool? One thing that makes you so cool is that you have this quiet, calm and collected demeanor- but you have a little bit of 'edge' to you! Every once and a while you show me this daring, adventurous side, but then you balance it out with this sweet, gentle and cool spirit! You have made some big changes this month, but your wonderful aura and calming presence is still the same. Sweet Trent, you are so special and just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside!
  • No more breastfeeding, starting to introduce whole milk.
  • Bottles (either breastmilk, formula, whole milk, or mixture) 7:30am, 1:00pm, 7:00pm
  • Sleep 7pm-7am (sometimes 7:30am)
  • Morning nap 9:00-10:30 Afternoon nap 1:00-3:00
  • Big eater, eats anything and everything we do
  • Had a few red bumps on mouth after about the 5th time of eating scrambled egg, so I am avoiding straight egg for a few months. He is fine eating things with egg IN it, and he loves muffins, pancakes, waffles. Dr. said the bumps were most likely unrelated, but we will check in a few months.
  • Crawling!!!! He has his own way. He scoots on his bottom, in the sitting position/crawling position
  • Pulls up on everything
  • Almost standing on own
  • Still sleeps in sleep sack
  • Size 12 mo clothes/size 3 diaper
  • STILL NO TEETH! There is one, kind of, peaking through on bottom
  • LOVES music and dances and claps the second he hears any kind of music- adorable!
  • Claps often with a big smile
  • Words: mama, dada, baba- basically just some babbles
  • He says "mama" in this deep voice, then Hunter copies him- it's a game they created
  • Feeds himself all his bottles, so independent
  • Really dislikes when you hold his hands/arms
  • Loves his pacifier
  • He is great in the car
  • Interacts very good with other kids
  • Gives the sweetest, spontaneous hugs!
  • Hunter ALWAYS calls him 'baby Trent', most of us do!
I can't say it enough, baby Trent is a precious gift. Trent is the example of patience, peace, and calmness. My sweet Hunter is the example of joy, spunk, and happiness. These boys are teaching me so much, and I aspire to be like both of them! Hunter loves HARD...he is one that you want on your side! He ADORES and protects baby Trent with every ounce of his body! He runs to his aid often, screams "danger baby Trent" when he puts something in his mouth, gives him toys when he's upset, rubs his head and gives kisses when he's sad, and always has his back when we are around other kids. Hunter has his protective eye on baby Trent at all times, he will step up and put himself on the line to make sure baby Trent is being treated fairly! Hunter's loyalty is so admirable! What a wonderful bond they have! They are a lesson of the way a friendship should be!

Happy Fathers Day

Scott, we love and adore you for being just the way you are! You are so simple! I love your easy going spirit, your ability to live in the moment, and your hardworking attitude. The boys will always admire so many things about you. You are such a good role model, and you are the steady rock in our family.
We were actually away from the boys this Father's day. We were on the way home from a wedding in Bourne, Tx. The weekend away was fabulous! Scott and I truly enjoyed being away from our "real life." However, we looked at each picture that was texted to us like 20 times- each!! Uncle Greg stayed with the boys Friday night, then our wonderful friends babysat Saturday night. We picked up the boys on Sunday, and had a very simple Fathers Day afternoon. We picked up dinner, played in the baby pool. Nothing fancy, but Scott was so excited to see them! We gave him some new clothes, which were so needed because he never spends money on himself! So, he was excited to get a summer wardrobe refresher!! Such a good husband, such a good father, such a great man!! We love you, Scott!!

Garner State Park

We had a wonderful weekend in Leakey, Tx!! We have my family reunion every summer, and the group keeps getting bigger and bigger every year! It is so fun to get together with all the cousins and babies. The adults have a blast floating, relaxing and visiting while the kids have a blast running, playing and swimming! Scott totally spoiled me on Friday. He completely took over while my girl cousins and I floated the river. We girl talked, had a few drinks and laughed for hours!! We realized it was 7pm when he finally got off the river! He figured out dinner, bedtime for Trent, and played with them for hours! Now that's a good husband!
Hunter is at a perfect age to enjoy camping. He was outside all day and stayed up till 10:00 one night! We were at the dance in Garner, and Hunter said "no more dancin'- time for night night!!" Sweet boy played hard! Trent was at a difficult age to go camping because he wanted down, but I couldn't put him down anywhere because he kept eating grass, thorns and bugs! I laid down a blanket, but he crawled right off. Yep, that's right...crawled!! He is fully mobile and a crawling machine! He stayed in his stroller, in someones arms or swimming in a float the entire weekend. It was a 5 hour road trip, and we were very pleased with how good they did..no major meltdowns in the car, so I would say it was a success!
Crawling and pulling up have been major milestones over here, but we also had a huge milestone this weekend! Hunter just decided- no more diapers! Since then, he has not had one accident. He woke up on Saturday, made up his mind, and just like that- no more diapers!! We have been working on potty training and spending lots of time in his big boy underwear, but this time HE decided it was time. Proof that they will do it in their own time!

Our family camping trip consisted of lots of swimming, floating, eating, campfires, dancing, and outside adventures. It was a fantastic weekend, really!! Scott and I thought it was going to be "work" for us to go camping with the boys, but we were shocked at how much fun we had. We knew the boys would have a blast, it was just an extra bonus that we happened to have a really nice time too! We always enjoy my family. There's never a shortage of drama, laughter, chaos and fun!!
We are in a transition period right now. I am starting to see Trent become adventurous and curious, while Hunter is really understanding his limits, rules, and boundaries. Hunter was always loud and full of life, but I never covered my outlets, never moved candles from my coffee table, and never locked my cabinets. He literally only played with his toys and never put anything in his mouth. Trent on the other hand is pretty quiet and calm, but I can already tell that my outlets WILL be covered, coffee table will be cleared and cabinets locked!! 5 days of crawling and he has already eaten a june bug, broken a glass, and enjoys crawling to rooms where he is alone! My mom used to say, "watch out for those quiet ones- they will trick you!" These boys are keeping me on my toes, and I am loving the ride!!

Late Bloomer

Maybe he was a late bloomer, but Trent is now all over the place! He is pulling up on everything, and he has created his own crawl. He sits with one leg under him and the other leg is in front. The leg in front pulls him forward, his arms are forward on the ground in the crawling position. It's close to the traditional crawl, but with a little personality! He is basically scooching in the sitting position. Regardless, he gets anywhere and everywhere he wants! He doesn't go all over the house, he pretty much stays in the living room and kitchen for now. He will soon start venturing out of his comfort zone. Hunter is so proud of him and cheers him on! Trent LOVES to dance. Anytime he hears music, of any kind, he starts clapping and bouncing! We are going on our annual camping trip soon. I am looking forward to our weekend get away on the Frio River with my boys!! I know Hunter will have a blast in his element all day- outside!! Trent will have fun too being passed around, the family time is always memorable! Baby Trent, you have the most adoring big brother! He loves you so much. Hunter has such a sweet and joyful heart! And we love having cousins live down the street so we can have wild dance parties anytime!
