Mothers Day and More

Before I get to Mothers Day...let's get caught up on day to day life. Scott and I have had a few date nights lately! Friends birthday parties, adults only! It has been so nice to dress up and have our alone time!

Faith Ann is a posing maniac! She puts her hands on her hip, bends a knee and smiles. She is so dang cute! She had her school picture day and we practiced smiles in her "ABC outfit!" Her teachers adore her. She LOVES Ms. Angela...has to be one of Faith Ann's favorite people right now!

Hunter lost a tooth at baseball practice. It was so cute!!! He calmly ran in from left field..."coach, I'm bleeding. I lost a tooth!" All the boys and coaches ran over to see it! So, it was a great photo opportunity for me to capture! So sweet. What a great team! We have made a few trips a week to visit my dad. He is still declining, but still remains comfortable. Trent is his buddy! Trent scratches his back, sits with him in the sun. They have a special bond.

As summer draws near, the kids are starting to get excited as we talk about summer. I LOVE their ages SO MUCH right now. They really want to spend time together, and with me too! So, I plan on soaking it up and enjoying our time together. They love each other hard! We share many simple moments together...but they make big memories.

We plan on going to Westiside a lot this summer. We just joined the club, and the kids are SUPER excited. We have already gone often. Swimming, golf range, batting cages, lunch, indoor playground and more. We have seen friends every time we go, which is even cooler! The kids really look forward to memories and fun at Westside.

And Cinco de Mayo came and went. Faith Ann wore my old dress!!! My mom made it for me 30 years ago!!! It is a precious dress. Faith Ann was excited to pose in it! ha! Hunter and Trent both had their last baseball games, so Faith Ann wore the dress and got tons of compliments. Faith Ann has called the concession stand "Einstein" all season! And calls Gatorade "alligator!!" Sweet girl! Baseball season has wrapped up. The boys had an amazing time. They both learned a lot and had really good teams. Great friends...old and new. We are grateful for the season we had. Looking forward to more. Hunter gained confidence, and Trent gained power...lots of it!

Now, onto Mothers Day. What a special day. We went to church then brunch. Simple morning. The kids were extra sweet and I got tons of cards! Scott got me a manicure gift card. So, after lunch, I got my nails done! Then, we spent the entire afternoon outside. Playing as a family. In the sprinkler, baseball and more. It was simple. It was perfect. What a great mothers day! Just the way I want it. And in memory of my mom....I am even more grateful for the moments with these amazing treasures of life!

Happy 4th Birthday, Faith Ann

May 8th! Faith Ann is FOUR! Happy Birthday to our sweet but sassy, sugar and spice, fabulous four year old! I let her sleep in my bed because she "wanted a cuddle when she was still 3!" How could I say no?? So, she woke me up bright and early on her birthday. Scott already snuck out to get sprinkled donuts for breakfast. Then, she got her purple bike from Parder! She rode it to take brothers to the school bus. She wanted "the bathing suits with the 2 parts." So, she did a fashion show with her new "2 part suits!!" I couldn't resist!

I let her pick anywhere she wanted for lunch. Just me and her! She wanted Hungry's! Good choice. We sat on the patio and talked for over an hour! She got "girl cheese sandwich and fruit!!" Girl cheese...haha, sweet girl! She brought her own dollar because she wanted to buy her very first Dr. Pepper!! She has never had one, so I figured it was a fun treat on our girls lunch! Then, we went home to get ready for her birthday party...RAINBOW PARTY of course! Her rainbow dress was perfection!

We set up in Ooh La La Cupcakes. An adorable bakery near our house. We decorated the back room FULL of rainbows. The rainbow popcorn, boas, banners, plates, cupcakes! There were 15 kids....mostly girls! Each kid had rainbow scratch color paper. Then, we made bracelets. Then, ate the HUGE rainbow cupcakes. Faith Ann couldn't decide which one she wanted...so she got both!!!

Her party was on her actual birthday, which was a Tuesday. So, Scott took off work early to get the boys off the bus. Then, the party was just an hour long. It was so perfect, colorful, sweet and simple. After cupcakes, I gave each kid a coin bag. We wrapped up in our rainbow boas...took our coin bags then went on an adventure! We walked to all the water fountains in Town and Country (just down the sidewalk.) All the kids made wishes, and threw the coins in the fountains. We called this "over the rainbow wishes!!' It was SO adorable to listen to the kids wishes. Hunter and Trent were in the middle of it all! Then, the kids all ran in the green space until the moms came back for pick up. It was the most amazing rainbow party ever. Faith Ann was soooo happy!

She was such a hoot! However, she is going through a "shy" phase where she doesn't like to be the center of attention. Weird...considering she poses like a DIVA for pictures! She cries every time I drop her at church child care or even drop her at a friends house. Once I leave, she bounces back in no time. But, drop off is kind of dramatic! I know, it's a phase!! This too shall pass! She is full of spunk, confidence all the other 99.9% of the time!

Faith Ann is SOOOOO sweet! Her teachers are always telling me how kind she is. How gentle and thoughtful she is. She makes me so proud. She is the perfect blend of everything I ever wanted in a little girl. She is funny, kind, patient, understanding, tough, gentle, girly, rugged, spunky, shy....literally, she is a mix of all things amazing! She is also an amazing friend! We have many best friend memories ahead...this is just the start! Happy Birthday to my dream girl!
