Our Month in the Virgin Islands (Part 1)

Here we go!!! To the Virgin Islands. We stayed in St. Thomas for a month, in a condo ON the beach! Magical! So here are some highlights!! Scott stayed the first 8 days to kick things off. Our friends also came that week, the Smiths. Their boys are the same age as ours, and we are all great friends. We both rented a condo in the same complex, so we spent the entire time together.

We went on a private powerboat to island hop, it was amazing. Snorkeled along the way and stopped at breathtaking beaches. The kids had an awesome time. Memories that will last a lifetime. We also went to St. John for a local 4th of July parade. It was so cool to get a feel for their culture. And we watched fireworks from our condo...fireworks over the island. Absolutely the coolest fireworks show I'll ever see!

We spent the rest of the week beach hopping and taking it all in. We also did a sunset catamaran sail. The water was rough that night. The kids LOVED it...the parents had to hold their dinner in! It was gorgeous nonetheless. Lots of laughter and memories filled our hearts! The Smith's left, and Scott stayed a few more days. Just us 5!! Scott's sister, Macy and her family, live in St. Thomas. So, it was awesome to spend so much time with them! They came to our condo a lot, and they were great tour guides!

Scott and the kids entered a kid fishing tournament. It was adorable. They fished off that dock for hours. And cousin Kinsley WON. First place. It was a really nice day with such an unique experience. Then, we enjoyed some alone time as a family of 5, before Scott headed home. Then, it was single mom life for me...for 3 weeks!

We sat on our porch and soaked in the view! We ate meals on the table, and Scott had a really hard time leaving. We had some great photo opportunities before Scott left! I mean, there is a good photo every which way you look! The kids were all over the place. Running, building sand castles, playing, swimming! FaithAnn became an AMAZING swimmer this summer. We are grateful for our family time, friend time, and cousin time with Kinsley.

Our condo was on Sapphire Beach. Literally right outside our door was the beach and a pool. Talk about a dream!! We had many days of staying put and taking a chill pill! Just relaxing and letting the kids be kids! Macy was so helpful in getting us around, taking us to the store, and she was always up for an adventure. We are really grateful for our time with her since we only see them a couple times a year. This was special!

We went to the grocery store and stocked up. We ate a lot of meals at the condo, which gave us extra beach time for sure. The kids became awesome snorkelers, and spent tons of hours floating the ocean. I packed an entire suitcase of sunscreen, and I am happy I did!! We reapplied many times a day with that sun beaming down.

Scott and I went on a date for Scott's last night. Macy stayed with the kids at the condo, and Scott and I enjoyed a long dinner. I knew I was going to miss him, but I was so looking forward to this bonding time with the kids. We were sad to say goodbye, but so excited about the journey that was still ahead!
