My Boys and Nashville GIRLS trip!

Hunter and Trent!! My boys. We have so much fun together. Hunter is the most kind, thoughtful and joyful child I know. He is seriously something else. Growing into his own. His last year in elementary school is going fast, and I am soaking it all in.

Trent is loyal, steady and such a star at everything he does. We are trying to get to the bottom of his spelling struggles. He is about to undergo testing at school, so more on that to come. For now, we are working hard to connect the dots. He is a straight A student, and sails through school. But, spelling is quiet the struggle. I am trying to find some answers to make it easier for him.

And Nashville, TN!! My good friend, Stevie, and I decided to hop on a plane to go to Nashville for the weekend. Scott's cousin, Christopher, owns a bar there so we got to hang with him. We listened to live music, tried great restaurants, shopped, saw a show at the Ryman Theater, slept in, stayed out until 4am, and def drank too much. Hahah! It was a fun trip of refueling our "momma tank." We came back tired, but also motivated to tackle the year!!

Sports and Injuries

Basketball season is in full swing. Hunters favorite sport, by far! And this was HIS SEASON! He crushed it. Our star was born. I pray for SO many more years of basketball games for Hunter. He was confident on the court, and so fun to watch. He had many big moments, and I was beaming with JOY!

Hunter practices hours a day. All I hear is the basketball bouncing away. Trent isn't playing basketball. He doesn't share the same passion. So, I decided to let him focus on his tournament football. FaithAnn is playing basketball too, and loving it.

Sports aside...injuries are going strong too!! Hunter broke his thumb. But, it didn't stop him from playing basketball. He slides his cast off and plays!! Beast! And Trent burnt the hell out of his leg on a dirt bike. It will definitely be a life long scar. He fell on his friend, Grey's, dirt bike. The gas tank landed on his leg. He had to get on antibiotics because it got infected. Ugh!! Adventurous start to our year!

Happy 2022!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2022. How time is flying. We had a simple New Years Eve. The Millers and Smiths came over for dinner and fireworks. We almost made it to midnight, but called it early since we woke up super early to have a day at the lease. The kids invited friends and we spent the entire day out at our lease. The kids shot guns. target practice, fished, explored and played until their heart content.

Hunter is such a good fisherman. He is a pro at getting the fish off the hook. We filled deer feeders and popped a few squats, lol. I love watching my kids in their element, and the outdoors is my kids element for sure. We piled in our cars and stopped at Popeyes to eat dinner. So funny. We were too muddy to go inside, so we ate in the parking lot! We had a great start to our new year. Happy New Year 2022!

Merry CHRISTMAS!!!

2021 is coming to an end. We closed out the year with a very merry, very simple Christmas. Darn covid is still lurking, so Scott's family wanted to avoid the party. Since his mimi is in her 90's, I understand. However, the good news is that covid seems to be really weakening. Basically, a bad cold that runs its course. But, with Mimi, no one wants to risk the unknown.

So, it was just the 5 of us. WHAT A TREAT!!!!!! Maybe my favorite Christmas so far! We went to Christmas Eve service. It was beautiful. I felt really connected to my family and not rushed. It was nice not having a plan and to just be in the moment. We got home and into Christmas pajamas. I made a big Christmas Eve meal...roast, rice and gravy. We ate every last bite. The roasted corn on the cobb is a family favorite! I used my moms Christmas china for the first time ever. I loved every second of it. Made me feel my mom on this special day.

Christmas morning was a HIT! Santa outdid himself. We got scooters, carts, laptop, hoverboard, football net and more. I love that my kids still crave outdoor activity, and I am so glad that Santa agrees. The kids were pumped, grateful and full of joy. We got the kids trunks to represent their week of summer camp! They are super excited since they have never been to sleepover camp. They will all go the same week in July!

Again, we had no plan for the day. So they kids got to play with their new things all day! I made another big meal for dinner. We may never have another simple Christmas like this, so I consider a gift. A true blessing. No running around. Just the simple joy of Christmas. What a perfect way to end our year!!
