Trent Tonsil Surgery and Nutcracker

Doozie!!! We are ending the year with a bang!!!! Trent got his tonsils, adenoids and turbanites in his nose removed. He had strep 5 times this year!! That is a lot of antibiotics!! So we decided to get his tonsils removed to get ahead of the game...hopefully!! The recovery was pretty rough. He got dehydrated and threw up a lot of times. It was rough. I took him back to the doctor, and they prescribed some nausea medicine. Thank goodness, it worked!! He finally turned the corner and started to improve. On a lighter note...FaithAnn had an adorable Nutcracker school performance. She was in a tutu, and I loved seeing it. We are ending the year strong. Lots of highs and lows, but we continue to be grateful for the highs!!!

Family Christmas Gatherings

Same weekend, every year! Christmas celebration at the farm. My cousin, Lacey's farm, in Madionsville. We love it. The cousins spend the entire day outside. Riding, running, and exploring. It is a highlight of the year and a fantastic way to kick off Christmas. Then, Chad and Veronica spend the night and we do our own family gathering the next day at our house. This is one of my favorite weekends of the year. SO much joy, memories, valuable time. Our Aunt Sandra died a few weeks ago, so this year felt different. Aunt Lauran also died this year. A lot of changes, but this gathering felt extra peaceful. My dad has his sisters in Heaven, and we are overjoyed to continue their legacies.

Kick off to Christmas

Christmas season is my favorite season! Our favorite tradition is to go cut down our Christmas tree. It never gets old. And every year, we claim we got the best tree ever. One of my favorite things about Hunter is that he loves to decorate for Christmas. He helps me, and I sat back and watched him decorate this year. He is so joyful! He loves to go through every decoration, and he talks about them. It is adorable. We decorated the entire house and enjoyed decorating the back patio tree all together! We also had fun decorating my gym Christmas tree!! We are all set and ready to enjoy the Christmas season with a house full of people and memories.

Geaux Tigers! LSU Trip

LSU game!! New tradition. The kids first LSU game, and it was so awesome! We went the weekend after Thanksgiving. We explored the campus, ate all the food, and spent time with my college roommate (and high school friend, Heather.) We played ATM, and we won. It was a great daytime game, but Scott decided to make this a tradition and go to a night game next year. We also saw my cousin, Anna Kathryn. I babysat her kids when I went to LSU. It is so fun to see her kids all grown up. We enjoyed our time together as a family. Simple, good 'ole fun!!!

Football and Thanksgiving

I LOVE watching Trent play football. Probably because I know how much he loves it, so I can feel his energy and focus radiate the field. He has shined on defense this season. The kids sure loves to tackle!! Their team went undefeated all season, but lost at the final playoff game! Darn, he was so close to making it to the Tully Bowl!!

This Thanksgiving....I decided to start a tradition of driving food for "Kids Meals." Its an organization that feeds children. I was on "food strike" for a week. Because my kids always claim that we have "no food." I spent $300 at the grocery store, and they still say we had no food! So, I decided to go on strike. No more shopping! They will eat the food we have. Period. Then to top off my strike...we delivered food to children that actually have NO FOOD! I would like to think this was a lesson they will remember. We went on the other side of town and spent a lot of time in trailer park and apartments. It was a lot of driving, but it was impactful.

We have also spent a lot of time with friends, which we are so thankful for. Dinner with Haley and Presely is always a favorite. We went to the Texans game with the Millers, and we went in their booth. It was the coolest experience. We got to go on the field and all! The boys enjoyed every second.

We spent actual Thanksgiving at Scott's cousins ranch. Laura has a beautiful ranch in Catsprings, Tx. We had a great time. It was a rainy day, but we enjoyed our time away. Happy Thanksgiving...we have SO much to be thankful for!
