Friends and Fun

Our kids are blessed with amazing friends, truly, such a blessing. I pray these friendships continue until adulthood! Hunter is friends with everyone! Any group of friends, any sport, any activity, any party, any time! This means a lot of birthday parties and play dates. But, Hunter is also the most spontaneous in his play dates. Not many are planned...they just happen! Probably because he is friends with everyone, so people just run over when he's outside!

Trent is mister cool guy. I would say, he is a little more introverted than Hunter. He's not shy. He's just not interested in being friends with everyone. He is more interested in being super close to his tight friends. Trent just had Grey spend the night, and we had a blast. Scott set out the tent in the backyard and made a campfire. These boys and these memories are so precious.

Faith Ann is a total extrovert. She has a million friends and loves them all so much. She wants to always be with friends, always have a plan to see the next friend. Her sweet friend, Presley, lives at the end of our street. So, they get a lot of time together. Riley is always one of her closest...they totally get each other and can relate to each other. Riley spent the night, and their giggles are priceless. And Blake, is her oldest friend. Friends since diapers!! They are in class together and they are adorable!

Football is officially over. Both boys made it to the playoffs, and their teams were so fun to watch. I know that we have MANY football days ahead. In fact, Trent's coach gave speeches for each player. And he recognized Trent for his hours of practice in the front yard...with his mom!!! So cute that all these boys and coaches know how many hours I play sports with my kids. I love it. Playing outside with them is my passion! I plan to do it until I can no longer walk!

We have had some really cold days. I train people at 5:30am, which means I am in the thick of the freezing temps. So, I had to document my hilarious outfits that I work in. I know, I look awful, but I can't stand being cold. haha! And cold, rainy days won't ruin our playtime. I still load up the car with kids and figure another way to be active. We went to church one day to play dodgeball. Just me and 4 boys. It was epic and fun. We laughed and played for hours.

And soccer for Faith Ann has come to an end too. She crushes it! Her head is always in the game, her eyes are laser focused. It is so fun to watch. On to the next...basketball!! The kids have quickly transitioned and we are already shooting hoops daily in the driveway! And this is my favorite picture and me and Faith Ann. She reminds me so much of my mom in this picture...with her wrist flip! So prissy...so ZsaZsa! I love when my mom shows herself in my kids. A reminder that pieces of her will continue to bless my days. Fall is wrapping up and memories are flowing in. These are truly the best years of my life.

Happy Halloween and Stuff

This year we have a green man, a shadow and a mermaid!! The boys are obsessed with their costumes. And Faith Ann looks so beautiful! She and a few of her friends are mermaids, and they are stunning! We had the best Halloween that started off with pumpkin carving! Trent worked SO hard on his pumpkin. All by himself for over an hour. His hard work and focus always impresses me!

We had our good friends over to carve pumpkins, the Schick family. Her daughter, Riley, is one of Faith Ann's besties for sure. They are so similar and the perfect blend of rough and tumble, and girly and sweet! We have many years and many memories ahead with the Schick family.

Trick or treating was epic! We meet up with some of Faith Ann's friends and their moms. The kindergarten girls crushed Halloween! They were loving every second. Hunter was recovering from a fast and furious stomach virus. So, he started off strong then quickly wanted to go home. Scott took him home and they laid low. Trent passed one of his friends and jumped ship to trick or treat with him. Trent has admittedly owned that he does not like Halloween! Not sure why?? But every year, he talks about how much he doesn't like it. So, at least he's consistent. He likes the costume and friends, but will not go up to peoples door! He doesn't even take or want candy! The highlight of the night was when Faith Ann trick or treated at her teachers house. Mrs. Rincon is a gem!

Faith Ann had her Book Boo Parade at school. She rocked her mermaid costume with her mermaid book. Scott came to school too, and sis was so proud! We loved this month. It was full of activities and fast pace living. We had slow moments in there that we savored. But, time is flying. I want to be as present as possible, and this book is so helpful as I want to treasure these years and memories. I want to remember what these days looked like, felt like. I love them so much!

The kids had school pictures, and Faith Ann's was so precious that the company asked if they could use her picture for their marketing. Gosh, she is something else! And I wanted to document how blessed my kids are with good friends. We still fill our days with outside play. Trent's best bud, Brooks, comes over often and they always play so good together. Building forts, playing with sticks and making up games. And his brother, Thompson, is good friends with Hunter. He slept over the other night, and Scott surprised them with tons of toilet paper to go wrap houses! Hunter also got to go to the Texans game, ON the field, for his best friends birthday. Hunter and Brady are thick as thieves, and they had a blast acting as one of the Texans players!

We just got done supporting the Astro's in the World Series. Lots of late nights watching TV, they didn't win, but gosh it was a long series. The kids got to learn a lot about baseball. And, we too, are blessed with amazing friends that love adventure. We found this awesome sand volleyball place by our house. We will for sure be going back! That is my kind of "date night!!" Oh, and I cut 6 inches off my hair!!!! I was ready for a new do! I needed a chop and fresh start. It feels great!

I also got to sneak in a couple days with alone time with my boys. Hunter had the stomach bug, and we got a day to ourselves. He felt great...after keeping me awake ALL night! He bounced back super fast and was ready to rumble. Although I was tired, I got up and made the most of our day. We ate at La Madeline, then spent an hour in Barnes in Noble reading books. He found a book that Trent has been really wanting. So, he used his own money to buy it for him. Sweetness! Then a few days later...Trent called from school with a fever. So, we got alone time too! He wanted fruit for lunch and to cuddle!! Done! He slept on my chest for an hour!
And to wrap up the month...we got surprise cousin time. Veronica came in town with Jim and Rebecca. We spent the entire day at my house playing outside, baking cookies and loving the day. Such precious children with such precious relationships. These are good days. The best days!
