Happy 9th Birthday, Hunter!!

Hunter wanted to be Trent's mystery reader on his birthday. It was so cute! Hunter gave the clues and all. "He plays 7 on 7 football, it's his birthday and he rides bikes." Trent was so surprised it was Hunter, and it was adorable. Hunter's confidence in front of Trent's class was priceless. Such a gift!!! His confidence continues to amaze me.

Hunter and his friend, Charlie, have the same birthday. Hunter wanted to watch a movie and play on the Green space in City Center. Then have Red Mango IceCream for dessert. So, I threw out the idea to Charlie's mom to share the party, especially since they have the same friends! Charlie loved the idea, and the party went off without a hitch!!!

Charlies mom and I brainstormed and called the movie theater ahead of time. There were NO kid movies in theaters on Friday the 13th (their actual birthday.) So, we did their party a week ahead while kid movies were still in theaters. We got a great group of boys together and played on the Green space after school. They played football and jackpot. Then, we made a line inside Red Mango ice cream to load up on our treats with toppings. We put some candles in the ice cream and sang Happy Birthday!

Then, we all walked to the movie theater to watch Angry Birds. We filled up an entire row!!! I ordered pizza and popcorn. They were happy campers. Then, we carpooled the boys back home. It was such a simple and amazing party. Such a wonderful group of boys! They were so tired when we got home. We crashed and geared up for another week!

Then, Sept 13th....Hunter's actual birthday! I told him we could do anything he wanted. He wanted to ride bikes to the gas station and buy every flavor of Fanta. Then, come home to do a blindfolded taste testing. He called it a "Fanta Party!!!" He wanted to invite the new kid, Collin. I don't know his mom, but texted her his idea. She was on board and dropped off Collin for a fun afternoon. Along the way to the gas station, we crossed one of his friends that joined us. It was such a fun and unique idea. Their favorite was Green Apple!

Hunter wanted to go to Pappy's for dinner. We grabbed our sweet neighbor, Tess, to join us too! His friend Collin came too. It was a great dinner. Hunter got a dessert and a song. Then, we wrapped Beau and Kates house. There were a lot of giggles and memories. Hunter, Trent and Scott spent the rest of the weekend playing with Hunter's birthday gift....an original Nintendo in the backyard lodge! What a great birthday! Happy Birthday my sweet boy. My first baby and my first big boy!

1st Day of School (3rd, 1st, Kinder)

My babies are back to school! Hunter is in 3rd grade with Mrs. Gandolfo. They switch classes for subjects this year in 3rd grade, so he also has Ms. Briggs. He is SO excited to switch rooms, makes him feel like a big boy. He still says he wants to be an American Ninja Warrior. He rocked his fresh hair cut and tie dyed shoes!! Love the confidence of this child.

Trent is in 1st grade with Ms. Vargas. She is a young energetic teacher, and he is doing amazing. He is so excited to be in class with his best friend, Brooks. They were sitting next to each other...'were' is the key word. That lasted one day before Ms. Vargas moved them apart. Haha! He wants to be a football player, and he continues to work hard for that goal!

My sweet Faith Ann is in Kindergarten with Mrs. Rincon. She is one of the best teachers, and I am excited that sister gets to learn from such an experienced teacher. She wasn't super excited about her denim and flower dress because she only likes to wear workout clothes these days. But, we negotiated it for the first day, and she looked precious. She actually came up with the idea to wear a dress one day, workout clothes the next, and keep the pattern going...she says, "so I can be that kind of girl that is never the same." Gosh, I adore her! She is soaring and wants to be a soccer girl when she grows up! She is really excelling at sports and school.

They proudly walked into school, with all the confidence in the world. We walked Hunter to class first, then Trent then Faith Ann. She went straight to work and gave me one last smile to assure me that I will be okay!! Yes....I know they will be just fine. It's me! I'm the one that struggles with back to school. I am obsessed with our summer days. Our days alone together. But, we are onto the next chapter. A chapter of greatness and growth! Let's go!!!!
