Happy 7th Birthday Trent!

We celebrated Trent's birthday early. Mainly because the perfect party idea came up, and I jumped on it!! Houston Texans Football camp, with the Texans coaches on the Texans field! Dream come true for my boy!!! We surprised him the day before with a #99 Texans jersey with his name on it! Helmet too! Then, we told him that 7 of his closest friends were coming too...an epic birthday party for Trent!

His expression was priceless! It was a 2 day football camp, 9:00-1:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Then, ALL the boys spent the night at our house in between. It was crazy, chaos, fun and oh so memorable! All the boys were dropped off at 7am to kick off the surprise. They loaded our cars and we were off!

Running back Lamar Miller was there, and the boys filled the Texans "bubble practice field." The coaches had them running drills, learning skills and a lot about hard work. They were pooped! I sat and watched the entire time. These boys thought they were professional football players. It was adorable!

I thought they were going to want to chill when we got home...nope, I was wrong! They were ready to rumble. They filled our backyard play lodge, played flag football, played kickball, hide and seek! Then, we wrapped the Astons house. But, Hunter and the older siblings had a plan in place...to water balloon attack us while we wrapped. It was awesome and so funny!

Beau, Kate, Ally, Uncle Greg, and grandpa came over for cake and root beer floats! We sang Happy Birthday, and Trent was a happy camper. They took off their shirts and all played on the trampoline. There were a few "injuries" but all had smiles. This group of boys is so rough and tumble. Lots of wrestling. They were too sweaty to come inside, so I hauled them down the street for and outdoor shower at the Astons house. Maybe my favorite part of the entire weekend. So cute and funny!

I threw all their clothes outside and told them to change into pajamas before coming inside. Epic! Lots of laughs! I made an assembly line and they brushed their teeth and made a huge pallet. We rented WonderPark movie, and they crashed. It was most of their first time to have a sleepover. Big deal! They all did great, and I found Bentley in the middle of them at 2am! We woke up early for day 2 of camp! Donuts and cleaned up! I dropped everyone home after the camp. It was action packed, but a birthday that Trent will never forget. May all your wishes come true sweet Trent!

Teeth, Work and a Proud Mom

FaithAnn lost 2 teeth!! Well, she got them pulled. But, that still counts and the tooth fairy made her first visit! Two symmetrical molars on the bottom grew in an odd way. Tilted back making a cavity on the root inevitable. We've been watching them for a couple years, and it finally happened. Cavities on the root. There was nothing they could do! They formed an immediate abscess, which means they needed to be pulled out asap! We headed to a pediatric dental surgeon to pull them and place spacers in. Since she wasn't supposed to lose those teeth until like 9 years old, we didn't want her mouth spacing to get all messed up! So, he put in spacers to allow room for teeth to grow in. That was a very expensive tooth fairy visit, haha!!!

She had laughing gas and demanded that I sit next to her chair during the procedure. The dentist doesn't usually have parents in the room, but she was adamant! She got her way, and she was very well behaved and handled the procedure like a champ! Reading and writing....I have made the kids read and write every day this summer. They have really enjoyed it. I made them each a summer journal to write about summer. And I have enjoyed reading with them too. This is my attempt to avoid regression over summer!! Hope it works! We read 20 minutes a day, and write about 20 minutes too!

As a proud mom, I have to document their summer "job." I teach a kid fitness camp at church. 2 weeks over summer. Their job is to help me with it. We successfully made it through the first week. Hunter was in charge of the parents signing in and out each day. Trent was in charge of leading stretching and keeping the kids on task. FaithAnn was in charge of organizing snacks and water for the campers. They helped me set up, clean up and more! Just 2 hours for 4 days. There were 28 kids and just me as the only adult...plus my 3 kid helpers. And it was amazing!!! They took their job very seriously. They earned their pay!! $25 per kid, and they were pumped!! They stashed their money away for our upcoming Virgin Islands trip!

Watching them work made me feel good. Like I was forming their first experience as an employee. I am honored to have the experience to provide that for them. They are learning and growing so much this summer. I am proud. I am blessed!

San Marcos (Gigi's House)

To grandmothers house we go!!! Gigi, recently moved to San Marcos from California. So, we get to see her more often! However, she always comes to us!! So, I loaded the car and decided to go to her!! I made it a long weekend and drove up Thursday. The kids were excited, and I was looking forward to another road trip. What a fun summer!

She lives in a great neighborhood with an awesome pool, park and the waterfall damn all walking distance. So, we did all of that!! We did an awesome cave tour, which was really interesting. We couldn't believe all that exists under the ground, and the history behind the cave. Really cool. The kids wanted to hear every word and understand every detail.

We rode a "wildlife train," which was amazing. So close and personal with the wildlife. Eating out of our hands. There was some really funny moments. Lots of laughing and joy. Then, we spent an hour in the cave. Exploring and learning. Such a neat experience.

They also had this "anti gravity house" that was hilarious. The way the house was constructed made it impossible to walk straight. We were falling all over the place. The kids couldn't stop laughing....and I couldn't take pictures because I was falling too! ha! We made it to the top of the scenic view tower, which again, Trent would not join due to his newly discovered fear of heights. He doesn't cry or throw a fit....he just happily stays on the ground!! Can you believe that all these attractions were in one place! One stop! The place was called WonderWorld Park. A must go to in San Marcos!

We headed to a late lunch on the river afterwards, then played and painted at Gigi's! Then, the next day, we hit the damn!! A couple blocks away from her house!! We swam for hours. The kids jumped off the waterfall a million times. Trent slipped off the top and fell into the waterfall...what a great way to help his new fear of heights...hahaha! He bounced back and climbed back up to jump again! This was so scenic, so beautiful! We really enjoyed our time together.

Then, daddy met us the next day!! We all went to float the San Marcos River. It was about a 2 hour float. It was calm and fun! The kids were starting to get tired after all this action, so we headed home to shower and regroup. Scott and I decided to go on a date and leave the kids with Gigi. We had a really nice dinner and walked to a cute college town bar!

Then, Sunday was Fathers Day! Just me and the kids took Scott out to breakfast to celebrate. Gigi told us about this cute turquoise old house turned into a café. It was great! We topped off the weekend with a fun afternoon with Mimi...Scott's grandmother. We all met at Scott's aunts house for more swimming and lunch. Scott recently caught a bunch of fish, so we brought the fish and had a delicious meal. We adore Mimi, so Scott was very happy to see her on Fathers Day. Gigi was a wonderful host. Yummy food and lots of fun!! We all truly enjoyed every second!

The kids were pooped when we got home that night. I love this picture of FaithAnn, totally passed out with her long legs. Priceless. Such a great weekend!!! Summer is rollin' along with treasured memories!
