Happy 11th Anniversary and 4th Birthday Trent!

What a big day July 16th is!!! That is the day we celebrate our anniversary and Trent's birthday. I was born on my parents anniversary, and I just know that is why I have such a special bond with Trent. He has had me wrapped around his finger from day one. The softest part of my heart belongs to Trent! He is a die hard momma's boy, and I am his biggest fan! I LOVE that we get to celebrate Trent on our anniversary. It is also our 11 year anniversary. It was a big day!
July 16th fell on a Saturday, so we got to have his party on his actual birthday!!! He woke up to some super cool gifts. We got him a flicker scooter...which moves by rocking your hips. Your momentum can build up to where you go really fast. Our neighbor has one, and Trent was so excited when he got his own! He also got his first set of real golf clubs from my dad. Scott can't wait to go golfing with him! And Scott's mom got him a "fast backpack" for PreK. Trent thinks that anything with the Nike "swoop" means FAST! He was so happy! Then, we were off to his party at the splash pad.
We had a little gathering at the splash pad with the party theme "Blaze." Trent is obsessed with monster trucks! Blaze is an adorable show about trucks, and Trent loves it! We hit up Party City for decorations, and Trent was SO excited about the decorations! He was most happy about the medals he got for party favors! Blaze medals for all his friends. Trent was handing them out for everyone to wear. Sweet boy!
The cutest part of the party was the cake. Trent wanted a monster truck cake. Well, cousin Ally enjoys baking so we hired her to make the special cake. She did amazing! Trent wanted his favorite colors...orange and green. The cake was perfect, warmed my heart to have such a personal touch to his party. We played in the splash pad and the playground. Ate TONS of donuts and cake! It was a happy success! The picture of Faith Ann getting busted for eating the cake cracks me up! She kept trying to lick the icing. Everyone had a great time!
Then, it was time to celebrate our anniversary! The kids all spent the night at my brother, Chad's house. Our kids LOVE their cousins. Chad's kids are about the same age as ours, so they get along so good! They had a house full of 6 young kids while Scott and I took off for our date night of rock climbing and bar hoping! I'm a simple girl that would MUCH rather adventure than a fancy dinner! So, late night rock climbing was perfection. Then, we went to a local bar and had a beer while we listened to the band. Perfect anniversary! Oh, I should mention, that my brother made me a very strong Vodka and tonic for our date. So, I poured it in my water bottle for rock climbing. Let's just say I was a very brave rock climber, haha! It was SO MUCH FUN!
We got home late and enjoyed sleeping in a little. Scott and I took our time the next morning and enjoyed the quiet house while the kids were at Chad's. We went out to breakfast alone, which was the icing on the cake to an awesome anniversary. Then, we picked up the kids and finished off our weekend. Oh ya, and I dyed my hair purple! Haha! I have always wanted purple hair. So why the heck not?! I got a few strands of hair underneath my hair, so it's easy to cover up. But, it just adds a bit of character. The kids think it is the coolest thing in the world, and Scott LOVES it! He said, "who knew I would love purple hair!?" We had a wonderful weekend. I am grateful for Trent, we had a blast on his birthday. I am grateful for Scott, our anniversary was right up my alley. And I love the gift he got me...a professional photo session for our family. He is so thoughtful. Love all the way around!
