Happy 6 year Anniversary!

Scott and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary this past Saturday (July 16th). We dropped off Hunter at my aunts house so that we could go on a "lunch date." That night, we went to Meredith's wedding, which we had an awesome time!! Our real anniversary celebration is next week in Ixtapa, Mexico!! My aunts are taking shifts staying at my house with Hunter and the dogs! I have lists, posters, and notes all around this house because they will not be able to "just pick up the phone" to call me considering we will be out of the country. I feel super organized and ready to "close down" that part of my brain for the week! However, I know that Hunter will be on my mind and I will miss him. I just won't be sad to be away from him for a little while, and I'm sure "vice-versa!" Being with him every day is the greatest gift, but sometimes absence gives you a new found appreciation of your blessings! Scott and I are so excited to spend time away from the "monotony" of our daily duties. Yipee...no diapers, no feedings, no naps, no laundry, no thinking about time!! This is going to be GREAT! As much as I am looking forward to it...I know that I will be happy to get back home to my sweet boy!
Speaking of spending the week away....I am still breastfeeding! I took a challenge a few months ago to pump and save 180 ounces for our vacation. Back in April, I said to myself, "If I start now, I just have to pump an extra 2-3 oz a day- I can do that!!" Well, proud to say that I completed my mission...BUT, I am SO stinkin' tired of that damn pump! Just the sound of it makes me want to vomit!! In addition to the crazy amount of time I spent behind that pump, our freezer is so full. Scott and I have a tiny section for our own food! This mission was CRAZY!! But, once I was half way there..I thought that I may as well go all the way! To say the least...I am putting AWAY my pump the second I get back from Ixtapa (yes, I am still going to pump here and there while on vacation!) My plan is to start introducing whole milk when we get back to slowly start the weaning process.
Hunter did great with all 6 babysitters this past week/weekend. I was in the wedding, so I had a lot of activities to go to. He is a pretty flexible little guy. The only thing that I have discovered that he likes to "stay the same" is his sleeping times...everything else is pretty "go with the flow." He LOVES mandarin oranges, playing ball, and taking a shower with daddy. He is such a boy...he opens his mouth under the shower water then spits it out! He enjoys the water going over his head. He loves bath time- but I think he is going to be a "shower guy!" I know I always say this, but Hunter's laugh is the BEST in the world. His belly laugh is so priceless, and his pure joy of life is a wonderful blessing that I enjoy daily!

Sweetest photo series ever! This is Hunter's reaction every day when Scott gets home from work "Is that Daddy I hear?".... "Y-E-S...it IS Daddy!! Time to PLAY!"

10 months

Weight: 20.10 lbs
6 years!! Scott and I have been married for 6 years this coming Saturday, July 16! We have been together since 15 yrs old (cute picture in this blog.) We have a wedding...Hunter's Godmother (Meredith) is getting married! What a wonderful person to share an anniversary with. I am looking forward to being a bridesmaid and enjoying the weekend. I told her parents that they really didn't have to throw me such an elaborate anniversary party..hahaha! Scott and I will get to celebrate when we go to Ixtapa, Mexico for our anniversary trip!
Hunter is growing SO fast. Probably because he eats like a vacuum cleaner!! His bottom got stuck in his bumbo chair! No joke, this boy can eat anything...without teeth! Yep, that's right- still not one tooth! I don't have much to say other than Hunter is the sweetest, most lovable, joyful baby! Everything is pretty much the same from last month, other than Hunter only breastfeeds 4 times a day now. He weaned himself from the 5:00pm feeding, fine-with-me!! I will start the weaning process when we get back from Ixtapa. The goal is to be done by his first birthday. I want to make weaning a slow process so that my body doesn't feel too much pain with engorgement! That's the plan at least.

If looks could talk

Hands down...one of my most favorite things about Hunter is the way his eyes look when he smiles with a pacifier in his mouth! I can't capture it on camera because he opens his mouth and drops his pappy every time he sees the camera!
Anyways, his eyes totally SMILE since his mouth is too busy sucking his pappy. His eyes look kind of sneaky, mischievous and slanted while he chuckles!! He will be playing all alone and the second I walk in the room...his eyes smile at me! I LOVE IT! Something that I always find attractive in guys is when their whole face smiles when they are happy, and Hunter totally has that! It is going to be hard for him to get away with anything because his face will give it away!
He has started to shake his head "no-no." If I offer him food and he is full...he will shake his head. If I tell him, "Time to clean up" he will shake his head...hilarious (for now!!) I love this kiddo. His personality is really blossoming, and I'm pretty sure that I am going to have my hands FULL!! If looks could talk, they'd say WATCH OUT MOMMA!!
And can I just say that I am pretty sure I have the best hubby in the world!! Today (Wednesday) is my favorite day of the week....Hunter and I eat lunch with Scott (Pizza Wednesday!!) You should see Hunter's face when Scott gets off the elevator- PRICELESS! His laugh, scream, panting and smile stops strangers in their tracks. Once again, Hunter makes people smile! Scott and I have been together for 13 years, and we still feel and act like we are 15!! This picture was at my nephews skating party from last weekend. Scott can still make me laugh hard and we have so much fun together!! I love that we have kept the fun in our marriage and I pray that we keep it a priority...especially while raising kids! Scott is great!

Happy 4th of July

I love long weekends! Saturday, July 2nd, would have been my moms 66th birthday....a bittersweet day! She loved Princess Hamburger, so the whole family goes there every year to reminisce on the wonderful years with mom! I could never put words to describe how much I miss her. I can't imagine what a birthday party is like in Heaven...she probably had the best party ever full of family, dancing, good food, and of course, lots of laughter!!
This past week has been pretty low key. Hunter had a sore throat last weekend and he hardly ate for 2 days. He had no fever and continued to sleep great (thank goodness.) It was just his eating, he would cry because he was hungry but then wouldn't eat due to the pain! But, he was all better after 48 hours. That was the first time that he truly didn't feel good, and dealing with a sick baby is NO fun!! It was stressful...is he eating enough? Is he going to get dehydrated? Did I give him too much medicine, or maybe not enough? Does he want to be held, or left alone? Why did he do that? !!!!!!Ugh, I felt very insecure in my mothering as I questioned everything!! Times like this is when I miss my mom the most! Glad it is over and we are back to our old tricks!I've also spent some time making Hunter's playroom. This is the room by the backdoor, we have very little extra space...so we had to work with what we have! He loves it so far, and it has provided hours of entertainment.
The rest of this post is going to be things that I love most about Hunter right now:
  • he eats like a PIG! He is still breastfeeding 5 times a day in addition to breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. He loves avocado, potato, brussel sprouts, all vegetables, yogurt, puffs, mango, papaya, lunch meat, cheese, meatballs (broken up), sausage, scrambled eggs, all fruit, toast, chicken...yep all this with NO teeth!
  • He is rough on his toys..all boy!
  • The noise he makes when he yawns
  • His thumb nail is EXACTLY like Scotts
  • Hits my chest or bottle while he is eating...this is a sign that he is eating good!
  • Will bend his neck backwards to watch me walk in and out of the room, and he will lean and stretch to see if he can see me
  • Loves swimming, and he dunks his own head into the water
  • His mouth is always WIDE open
  • He makes this panting breathing noise out of his nose when excited
  • His lips when he cries...he smudges them in the sweetest shape!
  • He has the sweetest clap
  • He has to have an outing everyday...he gets mega cabin fever, like his momma!!
  • He is so patient
  • He can be SO WILD yet so chill- great combo!
  • He rubs his belly at night after he eats and is ready for bed
  • He can entertain himself for hours
  • This list could be forever long. I love everything about him!
