Big Sky, Montana (17th Year Anniversary)

One of my top 3 favorite vacations is in the books! Big Sky, Montana. Has to be one of the most beautiful places in America. We dropped the kids off at camp then went to the airport to celebrate our 17th year anniversary! We stayed at an adorable cabin on a flowing River. Rainbow Ranch Lodge. Stunning.

The first adventure was a full day of fly fishing. We had a private guide and had a boat all day on the Madison River. It was seriously the most beautiful scenery. We both had to learn how to fly fish, first timers. It was complicated. But we caught on. And I actually caught more fish that Scott!! Then I turned in the rod and sat in the boat seat to soak it all in. Watching Scott in his element. Almost makes you want to pack up and move!

We ate at amazing restaurants. Delicious fresh food! Our next adventure was hiking BeeHive Basin. It was a 7 mile hike that blew our minds. We had bear spray in our pocket, and there was snow at the top!!!! The kids loved hearing all about this. It was a hard hike, definitely exercise! We made it to the very tip top and had a picnic lunch. Chipmunks came out to eat with us, it was so memorable! We sat on the top at least an hour...just taking it all in!

Then the classic Yellowstone Park. I was literally in shock at this place. Turn after turn, another one of Gods creations. So many different elements and views....all in one place. Truly magical. We were tourist all day. From the lava pools, geysers, buffalo, bear sighting, hiking, valleys, canyons, and views...I was in AWE!!!! A favorite memory of mine for sure!

We finished off the trip with a highlight. A highlight we will never forget. Under the Canvas camping! A night in an epic tent, in the middle of nowhere and only mountains as our view. There was live music, camp fire and food. Magical. No words can explain how unique this was. The tent was cool and crisp at night. The views were breathtaking. Scott and I were silent and soaked in as much as we could. Bottled it up, refreshed us, and recentered our hearts as we continue on our amazing life that I am truly grateful for. Happy Anniversary to the guy that is always up for all my adventures. And this one may take the cake. Amazing!
